OVERVIEW

Buster by Yamaha — Nordic market leader in aluminum powerboats — needed a digital presence that could carry a premium, performance-driven brand without feeling corporate or cold. The brief: redesign the website to express the Buster spirit through a minimal aesthetic, product-first hierarchy, and the brand’s signature orange.

I led creative direction and project management end-to-end — working directly with a UI/UX designer, development team, and a production partner handling on-water photography and videography.

The Approach

The core creative decision was to make the product the hero at every scroll point. Minimal layout, deliberate use of negative space, and the brand’s orange used selectively — logo, CTAs, and key accents — so it punched without overwhelming. The visual language was clean enough to feel premium, direct enough to feel like a brand that builds serious boats for serious people.

The Approach

To go beyond standard product photography, I introduced a 360° boat viewer — allowing buyers to inspect each model in full detail before ever stepping into a showroom. Combined with detailed imagery across use cases (leisure, fishing, sport), this gave each product line its own visual identity within a consistent brand system. 3D renders were used to show configurations and specs that photography alone couldn’t capture cleanly.

The Outcome

The client approved the design at delivery. The site has remained structurally unchanged for over six years — content updated, creative direction intact. In an industry where digital redesigns happen every two to three years, that longevity is the clearest signal the original thinking was right.
